On a standard 3-position chair, the back and legrest move together in a single linked motion — both recline simultaneously. The LC-435's enhanced mechanism on S/M/L sizes first extends the legrest fully, then allows the back to recline — creating additional intermediate positions. For example, you can have the legrest fully raised while the back is still partially upright, which is not possible on a linked standard 3-position chair. This gives meaningfully more flexibility than a standard 3-position without the complexity of a full infinite-position remote. The XL and XXL use the traditional linked 3-position mechanism.

Yes — the XXL LC-435 is rated at 600 lbs with a 30" seat width. This is the highest weight capacity of any chair in our lift chair lineup. The XL is rated at 500 lbs with a 26" seat width. The PR-531 has 49 coil springs, Grip Rite textured armrests, and goes up to a Tall size for users up to 6'3" — but caps at 375 lbs (standard sizes). The LC-435 Evolution adds USB-A and USB-C charging, a cup holder, magnetic hand control holder, and lithium battery backup as standard — and goes up to 600 lbs in the XXL.
