The PR-531 has a seam back, 49-coil pocketed spring seat, and Grip Rite armrests across 4 distinct sizes (Petite through Tall). The Cambridge has a plush biscuit back, standard foam seat, leg levelers, and a USB port across 2 hybrid sizes. The PR-531 covers a wider height range including Petite (4'6"+) and Tall (6'3"+). Choose the Cambridge if the biscuit back style is preferred, leg levelers matter for your flooring, or USB charging is important.
Leg levelers are adjustable feet on the chair's base that compensate for uneven surfaces — carpet variation, slightly sloped flooring, or transitions between flooring types. Most lift chairs without leg levelers can rock or wobble on imperfect surfaces. The Cambridge's non-skid leg levelers resolve this. For users with balance concerns, a stable chair base is a meaningful safety feature. The PR-531 does not have leg levelers.
The biscuit back is Golden's plushest traditional back style — deeply overstuffed and divided into padded sections for a soft, enveloping, sofa-like feel. It provides broad cushioning rather than targeted spinal contouring. For users who primarily want maximum softness in a traditional recliner aesthetic, the biscuit back is the preferred style. The PR-531's seam back offers slightly more lumbar definition; the Cambridge's biscuit back is softer and more uniform.
