Description

Invacare Top End Schulte 7000 Series Basketball Wheelchair

Our Invacare ® Top End ® Schulte 7000 Series Basketball Wheelchair is faster, lighter, stronger and better than its predecessor! The 7000 series aluminum material, enhanced head-tube design and an axle securing system improve performance and reduce overall weight by more than two pounds. Who doesn"t want that?

Material: 7000 Aluminum reduces the overall weight of the chair by two lb., making it comparable in weight with titanium frames. The big advantage of 7000 aluminum is three-fold. One, the material is approximately 23% stronger than 6061 aluminum. Two, since the material is stronger, we are able to reduce the wall thickness of the aluminum tubes, reducing the overall weight. Best of all, the rigidity and strength of a 7000 aluminum frame is further enhanced by Invacare ® Top End ®"s sophisticated heat treating and powder coating process.

Design: The Invacare ® Top End ® design team has made improvements in multiple components on the Schulte 7000 Series Basketball Wheelchair. The head tube design includes precision components that maximize stiffness, reduces play and improves overall responsiveness of the casters, plus it is lighter in weight. Axle receivers will now be locked onto the frame using a bolt securing system. This system minimizes axle play so that a player"s rear wheels are secure and solid for a confident feel. Lastly, sleek curved frame members add a sharp look to the camber tube, anti-tips and offensive wing.

The Designer:
Each Invacare ® Top End ® Schulte 7000 Series Basketball Wheelchair is custom built to each individual athlete"s specifications. This process is overseen by Paul Schulte himself, the General Manager and design engineer for Top End ®. Paul is currently a member ofthe USA National Men"s Wheelchair Basketball Team. He has played in many Paralympic Games and has held multiple MVP titles as a junior and in Men"s NWBA Division 1 and 2. He knows what he wants in a basketball chair and now offers the same performance to you!

Wheelchair Measurements:

  1. Hip Width:

  2. Widest Point:
Measure the widest area across the lower extremities if different from the hip width. This may influence seat width or arm style.
  3. Chest Width:
Measure the widest point of the thorax just below the armpit. This measurement may influence system width or back width.
  4. Heel to Knee:
Use this for legrest extensions and seat height.
  5. SRP to Knee (Seat Reference Point to Knee):
This will determine the seat depth.
  6. Elbow to SRP (Elbow to Seat Reference Point):
Measure this width with the arm in a 90-degree angle at the elbow and the shoulder in a neutral position.
  7. Shoulder Height:
This will determine the height and the style of the back panel or the start for a custom back.
  8. Head Height:
