Product Code: NA1072
Hoyer 6-Point Full Back Padded Bariatric Lift Sling — 850 lb, Integral Head Support, Padded Leg Pieces, HPL700 & Calibre Compatible
Purpose-built for bariatric lifts. Full back support. Head included. The Hoyer 6-Point Full Back Padded Bariatric Lift Sling is specifically designed for use with the Hoyer HPL700 and Hoyer Calibre bariatric patient lifts — rated to 850 lbs and engineered to provide the complete head-to-leg support that heavier patients with limited trunk control, involuntary movements, or a tendency to go into extension require during transfers. Unlike standard divided-leg or U-slings that require the patient to have significant trunk and head control, the full back design supports the entire posterior surface from head to thigh — integral boned head support is built in, and padded leg pieces cushion the patient's thighs throughout the lift. Six-point loop-style attachments distribute the load across the lift's cradle for stability and patient security at bariatric weight ranges. Available in four sizes to fit the full bariatric patient population. Authorized Hoyer dealer.

Key Features
Full Back Design — Head to Thigh Posterior Support
The full back sling design provides continuous support along the patient's entire posterior surface — from the head through the upper and lower back to the thighs. This contrasts with divided-leg U-slings and hammock slings that focus support at the seat and thigh without fully cradling the upper back and head. For bariatric patients who lack the trunk strength to maintain their own upper body position during a lift, or who have involuntary movements or extension tendencies, the full back design provides the comprehensive stabilization needed to keep the patient safely positioned throughout the entire transfer.
Integral Boned Head Support
Head support is built directly into the sling as an integral boned structure — not a separate add-on attachment. This ensures the head support is always in the correct position relative to the sling body and cannot be inadvertently left off during sling application. The boned construction provides firm, consistent support that keeps the patient's head in a safe, neutral position throughout the lift without the compliance risk of soft or adjustable head supports.
Padded Leg Pieces
The padded leg pieces cushion the patient's thighs at the sling's leg attachment points — the area of highest contact pressure during a seated lift. In bariatric patients where leg circumference and skin fragility may be greater, unpadded leg pieces can cause discomfort, pressure marks, or skin breakdown. The padding distributes contact pressure across a wider area of the thigh, improving comfort and reducing skin risk during the transfer.
6-Point Loop Attachments
Six-point loop attachments connect to the HPL700's and Calibre's spreader bar at six points across the width of the sling rather than the four-point attachment used in standard slings. The additional attachment points distribute the patient's weight across a wider area of the spreader bar, improving load distribution and reducing concentrated stress on any single attachment point — particularly important at the higher weights this sling is rated to handle.
Snug, Secure Fit for Complex Patient Presentations
The full back sling design provides a particularly snug, enveloping fit that is beneficial for patients who have a tendency to go into extension (arching the back) during transfers, suffer from involuntary movements such as spasms, or exhibit behavioral presentations that make a more open sling style potentially unsafe. The sling's continuous posterior coverage reduces the risk of patient movement causing positional compromise during the lift.
Compatible Lifts
| Lift | Capacity & Notes |
|---|---|
| Hoyer HPL700 | 700 lb bariatric electric lift — powered base, optional scale, 6-point cradle |
| Hoyer Calibre® | 850 lb bariatric electric lift — wrap-around handle, articulated casters, integrated scale, Smart Monitor |
Important: This sling is designed for bariatric lifts rated to 850 lbs and uses 6-point loop attachment. It is not compatible with standard 4-point or 6-point spreader bars on non-bariatric lifts (Presence, Stature, HPL450, Advance, etc.) — do not attempt to use this sling on lifts not rated for bariatric loads. For standard-capacity lift slings, call 1-866-218-0902 for the correct sling recommendation.
Who This Sling Is For
- Bariatric patients up to 850 lbs being transferred with the Hoyer HPL700 or Hoyer Calibre lift
- Patients with limited or absent trunk control who cannot maintain their upper body position during a seated lift
- Patients with involuntary movements, spasms, or neurological conditions that increase positional risk during transfers
- Patients with a tendency to go into extension during lifts — the full back design provides the posterior coverage to manage this safely
- Bariatric patients with fragile or sensitive skin — padded leg pieces reduce pressure at the highest-contact thigh area
- Patients for whom a snug, enveloping sling fit provides greater sense of security and reduces anxiety during transfers
Care & Maintenance
- Machine wash at 185°F (85°C)
- Do NOT wash with bleach — bleach damages sling material and makes it unsafe for use
- Cool tumble dry, air dry, or dry at very low temperature — do NOT dry clean
- Inspect sling and all stitching carefully before each use
- Do not use bleached, torn, cut, frayed, or broken slings — destroy and discard worn slings immediately
- Do not alter slings in any way — alterations void safety ratings and create injury risk
- Sling service life varies with use frequency, patient weight, wash temperature, and detergents — inspect before every use
