Both share the same 5-zone MaxiComfort + Twilight positioning system. The PR-525 upgrades to memory foam fill throughout (seat, back, and armrests), increases weight capacity to 400 lbs (from 375 lbs), adds the split-arm storage system with wireless charging, adds the LED reading light and butler tray as standard, and opens up the full accessory ecosystem. The PR-515 does not have memory foam, the split-arm storage, the LED light, or the butler tray. If you plan to spend extended time in the chair and want the storage and convenience features, the PR-525 is the correct step up. If you primarily need the positioning technology and power headrest and lumbar, the PR-515 delivers those at a lower price.
HeatWave Technology uses Far Infrared heating pads with standard vibration massage motors — similar in concept to most lift chair heat and massage add-ons. Nirvana Swedish Air Massage is fundamentally different: 10 inflatable air chambers deliver light, full-body soft tissue Swedish massage across 500+ square inches of the body. Independent controls for lumbar, glutes, and hamstrings. Two modes — soothing massage and stretching. Combined with Far Infrared heat that penetrates up to 3 inches into skin and muscle. Some accessories — like the Bluetooth speaker, tablet holder, and snack bowl — can be added after delivery as they connect to or rest in the arm compartments. Heat and massage upgrades (Nirvana, HeatWave, Deluxe) cannot be added after delivery — they must be specified at time of order. The PR-525 is one of the heavier chairs in the Golden lineup, particularly in the Large size. The memory foam fill, split-arm components, and larger overall frame contribute to the weight. Standard delivery is curbside on a pallet — you will need two people to move it into the home. We strongly recommend white-glove delivery with in-home setup for this model.
