Description

Zippie X'CAPE Pediatric Wheelchair

The Zippie X'CAPE by Sunrise Medical is a fun, functional, and fully customizable folding pediatric wheelchair. The X'CAPE features an innovative design; it is the first wheelchair to use XLOCK technology, which merges the convenience of a folding frame with the durability of a rigid frame. Since the X'CAPE can fold down, it is very easy to transport. You can lock it by pushing down or fold it by pulling up with just one hand. The X'CAPE is also designed to expand 2" in the crossbrace and 3" in the seat rail, allowing it to adapt as your child grows while still providing maximum positioning, propulsion, and efficiency.

The adaptable design of the X'CAPE extends to the Z-finity footplate system. This system includes a pivot arm that can be adjusted to swing back or forward, ensuring the best positioning for lower extremities as your child grows. Additionally, seating and accessories can be customized using the innovative VersaRail seat rail system, which offers ample space for components. The VersaRail system is compatible with both bolt-on clamps and mounting clamps, and it allows different components to share placement. This means your child can have all the accessories and components they need without compromise.

Wheelchair Measurements:

  1. Hip Width:
Use this to figure seat width if it is the widest point.
  2. Widest Point:
Measure the widest area across the lower extremities if different from the hip width. This may influence seat width or arm style.
  3. Chest Width:
Measure the widest point of the thorax just below the armpit. This measurement may influence system width or back width.
  4. Heel to Knee:
Use this for legrest extensions and seat height.
  5. SRP to Knee (Seat Reference Point to Knee):
This will determine the seat depth.
  6. Elbow to SRP (Elbow to Seat Reference Point):
Measure this width with the arm in a 90-degree angle at the elbow and the shoulder in a neutral position.
  7. Shoulder Height:
This will determine the height and the style of the back panel or the start for a custom back.
  8. Head Height:
This will help determine the proper headrest height.
