Pride PLR-3955 VivaLift Radiance Power Recliner

Trendelenburg is a recline position where the feet rise above the head — the opposite of standard recline. It reduces venous pressure, encourages blood flow back to the heart, and is used therapeutically for edema, poor lower-limb circulation, and some post-surgical recovery protocols. Not everyone needs it — zero gravity (knees at or above heart level) is sufficient for most circulation needs. If your physician has specifically prescribed Trendelenburg, the PLR-3955 Radiance supports it. The PLR-4955 Ultra does not.

Both have 3-zone heat, true infinite positioning, power headrest, power lumbar, wireless charging, and lithium battery backup. The key differences: the Ultra PLR-4955 adds VivaLift Tilt (a deeper zero-gravity pivot from the rear of the chair) and air-bladder massage. The Radiance adds Trendelenburg capability, which the Ultra does not have, and comes in four sizes including Petite Wide. The Radiance is the right call if heat is your primary need and Trendelenburg or Petite Wide sizing matters. The Ultra is the right call if you want massage and the deepest available zero-gravity position.

Both are designed for users 5'4" and below. The Small has a 20" wide, 18" deep seat — proportioned for a smaller overall frame. The Petite Wide has a 24" wide, 18" deep seat — built for users who are shorter but need more hip room. The Petite Wide also has a shorter back height (23" vs 25"). The ergonomic toggle remote has two programmable memory buttons that store your custom recline positions. Set the chair to your preferred position, press and hold the memory button to save it. From then on, a single press returns the chair to that exact position without readjusting. Useful for users who use the same therapeutic recline angle regularly — particularly for Trendelenburg or a specific zero-gravity position.

Yes — significantly more. The Large/Tall requires 21.5" of clearance from the wall to recline fully. The Petite Wide, Small, and Medium all require only 14–15". If you're placing the chair near a wall and need the Large/Tall, make sure you have at least 22" of clearance before ordering.
