The Catalyst 5Vx is Ki Mobility’s Catalyst 5, featuring a newly designed axle plate and an adjustable camber tube. Constructed from the ultra-light, high-strength 7000 series aluminum, the Catalyst 5Vx effectively dampens vibrations, ensuring a smoother and more comfortable ride. Additionally, you have the option to upgrade the frame or cross brace to titanium. Ki Mobility’s uniquely crafted cross brace offers the sensation of a rigid frame wheelchair while maintaining the convenience of a folding frame.

The Catalyst line includes a Dual Interlocking Cross Brace, a design that locks the frame together, minimizing unwanted movement and maximizing energy transfer with each push, making your efforts as efficient as possible. The “Between-The-Rails” Seat Design positions the seat frame tubing side-by-side instead of stacking them, allowing the user’s weight to rest on the side frames rather than the cross brace. This innovative approach eliminates the need for heavy cross braces that add unnecessary weight to other manufacturers’ wheelchairs.

The folding and unfolding mechanism of the Catalyst 5Vx is also distinctive. It features a Power X-Hinge, an extending link that connects the frame to the cross brace, expanding and contracting as the frame opens or closes. This Power X-Hinge not only enhances the frame’s structural integrity but also ensures that the strength and rigidity come from the extending link rather than the seat upholstery. Remarkably, your Catalyst 5Vx will maintain its solid feel whether or not the seat upholstery is in place.

Lastly, we cannot overlook Ki Mobility’s unique legrests. These legrests can be mounted or removed from any angle, eliminating the need to rotate them fully in or out like those from other manufacturers.
