The HPL402's single-speed actuator is mounted in reverse orientation compared to standard electric lifts. In a conventional actuator position, the motor and mechanism extend forward under the boom, reducing the space available between the sling and the lift frame for the patient's legs and knees. The reverse-mounted configuration moves the actuator behind the boom pivot point, opening up significantly more knee clearance in front of the mast — making transfers more comfortable for the patient and reducing the risk of the lift frame contacting the patient's lower limbs during the lift cycle.

Mechanical Down-Release Lever — Non-Powered Emergency Lowering

A dedicated mechanical down-release lever allows the caregiver to lower the patient smoothly without battery power — a critical safety feature for home care environments where a power outage, dead battery, or electrical fault could otherwise leave a patient suspended in the sling. The mechanical release provides a controlled, gravity-assisted descent that gives the caregiver full control of the lowering speed even without the powered actuator.

Adjustable U-Base — Pull-Handle Mechanism

The U-base adjusts with a simple pull-handle: pull back to unlock, right to widen, left to narrow. This single-hand operation is faster and less physically demanding than foot-pedal mechanisms and can be performed without the caregiver bending down to the base. The base opens to 39.5" for positioning around chairs, wheelchairs, and commodes, and closes to 24" for maneuvering through doorways. The U-shape allows the lift to straddle toilets, commodes, and chairs for direct seated transfers.

Low Base — 5.5" Clearance

The low base profile requires only 5.5" of floor clearance — low enough to roll smoothly under most home care beds and standard chair bases. This allows the lift to be positioned directly beside or under the patient's sleeping or sitting surface for a closer, safer transfer without the need to first move the patient toward the edge of the furniture.
