Rotating Pump Handle — Operable From Either Side

The hydraulic pump handle on the HML400 rotates freely to either side of the lift, allowing the caregiver to pump and operate the lift from whichever position the transfer situation requires. In many home care transfer scenarios — particularly around beds, commodes, or tight bathroom spaces — the caregiver needs to be on a specific side of the patient to provide assistance or maintain safety. The rotating handle means the lift's mechanical operation doesn't force the caregiver into a suboptimal position during the lift.

Progressive Release Valve — Controlled Lowering

Patient lowering is controlled by a progressive release valve — the more the valve is opened, the faster the descent, but the valve is restricted so even when fully open the speed remains safe and controlled. Opening the valve just a quarter turn provides a very slow, gentle descent that allows the caregiver to work hands-free while assisting or comforting the patient during lowering. The valve requires only gentle pressure to operate — it should never be forced.
