Lift Chair Tables & Accessories
The right accessories make a lift chair more practical, comfortable, and useful for everyday living. A good lift chair table keeps meals, medications, books, and devices within reach without requiring the user to lean, stretch, or stand. Accessories like remote holders, cup holders, and protective covers extend the life of the chair and add convenience for users who spend significant time in their chair each day.

Why a Lift Chair Table Matters
Most people who use a lift chair daily also eat in their chair, take medications in their chair, and keep their phone and remote close at hand. A standard side table is rarely the right height for a lift chair user — it's too high, too far away, or not stable enough when leaning in from a reclined position. Lift chair tables are specifically designed to position over or beside the chair at the correct working height, keeping everything within comfortable reach without straining.
What to Look For
- Height adjustability — should position the surface at elbow height when seated
- Swivel arm — allows the table to swing away easily for getting in and out of the chair
- Stable base — should not tip when leaning on the surface
- Sufficient surface area — large enough for a plate, drink, and phone or remote
Other Useful Accessories
- Remote holders — keep the hand control within reach and off the floor where it can be stepped on or lost in the cushion
- Chair covers and arm covers — protect fabric from wear, spills, and pets; extend the life of the upholstery significantly
- Cup holders — clip-on or freestanding holders that keep drinks stable at armrest height
- Wedge cushions — for users who need additional seat elevation or lumbar support beyond what the chair provides

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a standard over-bed table work with a lift chair?
Sometimes — but over-bed tables are typically designed for a lower position and may not extend high enough to clear the armrests of a lift chair in the upright position. A table designed specifically for lift chairs will be sized and shaped correctly. Call us if you're not sure what will work with your specific chair: 866-218-0902.
How do I protect my lift chair fabric?
Chair covers and arm covers are the most effective protection. Arm covers protect the highest-wear areas — where hands grip the arms constantly throughout the day. A full chair cover protects against spills, pet hair, and general wear. For users with incontinence concerns, a waterproof cover or a chair with Sta-Kleen or Brisa vinyl fabric from the start is the best solution.
Can I add heat and massage to my existing lift chair?
Generally no — heat and massage on lift chairs is built into the chair at the factory and is not a retrofittable add-on. If heat and massage is important, it needs to be specified at time of ordering. Call us to discuss: 866-218-0902.
